Monkey Pox Hits Bayelsa, 10 Persons Infected

A new viral disese known as Monkey has hit Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital as 10 persosns have been infected.

The authorities in the state also said that 49 persons had been put on surveillance while the infected ones had been taken to the Niger Delta University  Hospital, Okolobiri in Yangoa.

The state Commissioner for Health, Professor Ebitimitula Etebu, while confirming the development, said samples of the virus had been sent to the World Health Organisation, WHO, laboratory in Dakar, Senegal, for confirmation.
